Anyonyam represents the meeting of two major Rig Veda practitioner groups based in Thirunavaya Math and Brahmaswom Math, which were once patronized by the Zamorin and Cochin kings respectively. The competition was revived in its present form in 1989. Cochin Devaswom Board gives significant support for conducting this competition with Anyony Parishath.
